Busan Metropolitan City Infectious Disease Newsletter April 2024 Mosquito-Borne Infectious Diseases Q&A for A Safe and Happy Life Q. What is the mosquito-borne infectious disease? A. A disease transmitted by mosquitoes bites which is spread by the mosquito that sucks blood from a person and bites another. Q. What kinds of diseases are there? A. There are Japanese encephalitis, yellow fever, malaria, dengue fever, Chikungunya fever, West Nile fever, Zika virus infection and others. Q. What are the main symptom(s) if infected? A. Fever, rash, muscle/joint pain, conjunctivitis, headache, etc. There are even cases of no symptoms. Q. How can I prevent it? A. Please check out four preventive rules below! Preventive rules of mosquito-borne infectious disease Use of insect screens, mosquito nets, and repellent, as well as wearing long sleeves and long pants.
