Mosquito-Borne Infectious Diseases Q&A for A Safe and Happy Life Q. What is the mosquito-borne infectious disease? A. A disease transmitted by mosquitoes bites which is spread by the mosquito that sucks blood from a person and bites another. Q. What kinds of diseases are there? A. There are Japanese encephalitis, yellow fever, malaria, dengue fever, Chikungunya fever, West Nile fever, Zika virus infection and others. Q. What are the main symptom(s) if infected? A. Fever, rash, muscle/joint pain, conjunctivitis, headache, etc. There are even cases of no symptoms. Q. How can I prevent it? A. Please check out four preventive rules below! Preventive rules of mosquito-borne infectious disease Use of insect screens, mosquito nets, and repellent, as well as wearing long sleeves and long pants. Avoid the place with a lot of mosquitoes such as forest and/or mountain Visit a medical facility if you experience a suspicious symptom If you have visited a country where Zika virus infection occurs, you should not have any sexual contact for at least three months after the visit.If you have visited a country where Zika virus infection occurs, you should not have any sexual contact for at least three months after the visit.For more specific information regarding major infectious diseases, please check it out  at the homepage of Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency!
